"Straight to Hell Returns" is a new version of the 1986 feature "Straight To Hell" written by Dick Rude and Alex Cox and directed by Cox.

The new release features digitally-improved violence and cruelty, six missing scenes, a new 5.1 stereo soundtrack by Academy Award winner Richard Beggs, and a new color design by cinematographer Tom Richmond.

Four hapless bank robbers bury their loot and attempt to hide out in a deserted desert town. But the town is not deserted. Feasting, song, sexual tension, and inevitable deaths ensue.

Norwood (Sy Richardson), Sims (Joe Strummer) and Willy (Dick Rude) are three black-suited killers-for-hire. Paid to murder one Mr. Greenburg, they oversleep and miss their target. To escape the wrath of their employer, Mr Dade (Jim Jarmusch), they head for the desert, robbing a bank en route.

Dick Rude's latest film, Quit, is the tortured tale of a couple in the midst of their fight to quit smoking – and each other. It stars Diora Baird.

His 2006 film, Let's Rock Again! was a very personal and powerful close-up portrait of his friend, Joe Strummer of The Clash. The film received widespread acclaim and recognition.

"Straight To Hell Returns," a 1986 spaghetti western satire written with director Alex Cox, was re-released on DVD with enhanced sound and video. Originally re-released by Micro Cinema DVD, a distributor of independent films, it is still available from Amazon and other online sellers. (It's become a collector's item.)

The audio soundtrack is available for much less than the video DVD.

Rude left UCLA Film School to co-write and star in "Straight to Hell," which features such notables as Joe Strummer, Dennis Hopper, Courtney Love, Elvis Costello, Jim Jarmusch and The Pogues.

As a producer and director, Rude has done several music videos. His video productions include music documentaries for Blonde Redhead ("Nothing Something"), Red Hot Chili Peppers ("Off the Map") and "LA Punk – The First Five Years" which was featured on the "Punk Attitude" DVD.

Dick Rude was born and raised in Los Angeles. His film career began at the age of 15 when he attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. As an actor, he has appeared in several films including "Sid and Nancy," "The Wild Life" and "Repo Man," which he also participated in as a contributing writer. Other writing credits include a pilot for Sophia Coppola, "Hi Octane," and an un-produced script commissioned by actor River Phoenix.  More About Dick Rude
